15 teams of international students take part in the Dorm Olympics

On February 18-19 Ogarev Mordovia State University hosted a remarkable sports event – Dorm Olympics (Spartakiad) for international students, dedicated to the Day of Defender of the Fatherland. The event was organised by the Students’ Union of the University, the Union of international students, the students’ athletics club "Ogaryovets", International Relations Office, the regional branch of the National Interethnic Youth Association.

15 teams of international students of Ogarev Mordovia State University as well as students of Evseviev Mordovia State Pedagogical University got together to reveal the winners. For two days students competed in swimming, darts, table tennis, mini-football, badminton and streetball. According to the results of the Olympics, the wins were distributed as follows:
Swimming (individual classification): Abduvokhid Halimov (Tajikistan) - 1st place, Shakir Khudayarov (Turkmenistan) – 2nd place, Tazebay Bolekov – 3rd place (Evsevyev Mordovia State Pedagogical University).
Swimming (team classification): 1st - Turkmenistan, 2nd place - Tajikistan, 3rd place - team from Evseviev Mordovia State Pedagogical University.
Table tennis: 1st place - Gennady Ageyev (Uzbekistan), 2nd place - Araz Nazarov (Turkmenistan), 3rd place - Somon Madaliev (Tajikistan).
Badminton: 1st place - Kumar Arvind (India), 2nd place - Emil Dashdomirov (Azerbaijan), 3rd place - Saadi Ali Subhi (Iraq).
Darts: 1st place - Evgeny Fursov (Ukraine), 2nd place - Saadi Ali Subhi (Iraq), 3rd place - Bibiana Bwumbura (Zimbabwe).
Streetball: 1st place - South America, 2nd place – Kyrgyzstan, 3rd place – Turkmenistan.
Mini-football: 1st place - Iraq, 2nd place – Yemen, 3rd place – Turkmenistan.

In team classification, the 2nd place was shared by the teams of Iraq and Tajikistan. The winner of the 2017 Olympics was the team from Turkmenistan.

The Rector of Ogarev Mordovia State University Sergey M. Vdovin and the Head of the International Relations Office Natalia Sh. Vatolkina congratulated the participants on the successful completion of the Olympics. The winners were awarded diplomas, medals, cups and souvenirs.
